We have been trying to get the Polish prog giants RIVERSIDE to come to the west coast every year for the last 5 years but have not been able to make it happen... until now. They play to sold out shows all across Europe and have been frequently invited to Prog Fests both there and in the US. I have seen then at ROSFest and the late great NearFest and have been extremely impressed. So it is with great pleasure that CalProg has managed to book their very first date on the West Coast at the intimate Center Theater in Whittier. If you are not familiar with their music you should of course check out the audio montage posted on this page and check out their videos (also posted below). But Mariusz Duda (bass and lead vocals) put it so well from the stage at ROSfest I will use HIS words: "At first people say we are Polish Dream Theater. Then later they say we are Polish Porcupine Tree. But NOOOO, we are RIVERSIDE!" With 6 studio albums and multiple EPs to their credit, not to mention the dedicated fans who have been asking me year after year to get them out here, it seemed appropriate to have "An Evening With" format show and to let them play as much as they want from their catalog.
